About · Aviemore, Highland
Built in the Cairngorms
Rethink makes software for woodland and peatland carbon projects. We started in 2021 and work out of Aviemore, a few miles from the ground on our home page.
Since 2021
CivTech, then the codes
In 2021 we took on CivTech Challenge 6.4: could technology change how land-use decisions get made. The first platform took opportunity mapping off the spreadsheet.
That work led to CivTech Challenge 10.6, set by the Woodland Carbon Code and the Peatland Code: administer, measure and predict carbon performance more coherently. Rethink Codes is the answer, built with the code teams rather than beside them.
Today developers, code administrators and validators work on the same project record, from the first line on the map to the UK Land Carbon Registry.
